Some local businesses and the Gateway Center have been evacuated after a gas line was ruptured on Memphis Avenue.
Brooklyn’s fire department said the partial evacuations began around 11 a.m.
Memphis Avenue is closed between Tiedeman Road and Bellaire Road.
No word of any injuries at this time.
It’s reported construction workers may have hit the line, but authorities have not yet confirmed that information.
