Nashville, TN — “Bobby Jones Gospel” did not air on BET Sunday Morning, June 3, 2012, but instead, The Game did. One loyal BET viewer said, “I’m a fan of the Game, but to run the show all day long, including Sunday morning, while getting ready for church was too much.  To make matters worse, how does watching the Game replace, an uplifting show like Bobby Jones Gospel?”  Needless to say but that was the feeling of many who normally watch Bobby Jones Gospel every Sunday morning and when it did not air, all havoc broke out for many as telephone lines were suddenly jammed with Bobby Jones fans reaching out for answers as they wondered, “Where is Bobby Jones Gospel?”

The same could also be said about Facebook, with messages going out. Twitter also started to see an increase in activity with many asking the same thing on Sunday morning, “Where is Bobby Jones Gospel?”

Many expressed their concern because the show was a prelude to their Sunday morning church service. Additionally, the sick and shut in, the incarcerated, ethnic viewers, young and senior viewers as well as people, from many walks of life simply responded with disappointment and frustration.  Many of the islanders also expressed their concern as they reached out to their cable TV carriers and also expressed their shock and concern at BET for disrupting their Sunday routine.

However on Monday a reason for the disruption was finally given.  Dr. Bobby Jones said, “I did speak with someone from BET today, who said, they were running a “Game” marathon, up until the season finale of the show, which will air on Tuesday night.”

With that said, hopefully the show will resume it’s usual showing time next Sunday, and all will be right with the world, at least on Sunday morning’s on BET when “Bobby Jones Gospel’ returns to it’s usual air time.

Bottom line this kind of response truly indicated the popular growth and respect that Gospel Music has created in this nation and abroad.

May we continue to band together and allow our voices to be heard when needed, as we did for “Bobby Jones Gospel”.
