According to My Fox Houston, James Fortune and his wife Cheryl are being sued for alleged child abuse of Cheryl’s son and James step-son. The abuse happened in 2001 and in 2003 James Fortune pled guilty to felony injury to a child and received six years deferred adjudication.
The couple is being sued civilly for five million dollars. The child, who was burned over 50% of his body, is now 15-years old. The father says that the money will be used for plastic surgery to correct disfigurement from the burns.
