Jennifer Lopez, 43-year-old entertainer who has overcome three unsuccessful marriages, is convinced that when it comes to her relationships, God knows what He’s doing.
In the September issue of InStyle Magazine, Lopez opened up about her outlook on love in light of her pending divorce from estranged husband Marc Anthony and speculation concerning her current relationship with 25-year-old dancer Casper Smart.
“I live by the mantra that God doesn’t give you anything you can’t handle,” she told the magazine. “It’s not until something bad or difficult happens that you really get to grow.”
According to Lopez, who announced that she would be ending her stint as a host of ‘American Idol,’ there is no reason to be afraid of the future after growing from past situations.
“…You realize that those difficult moments, the times when you feel pain, are when you do a lot of your growing,” she said. “You realize: There’s no reason to be terrified of things. Either way I’m going to be okay.”
Although Lopez has been married three times including the union with Anthony that ended last year, the singer, dancer and actress said she is still ready for love.
“The hard part is that you never stop believing in love. You never stop,” she told InStyle. “But that’s also the best part. You never stop believing and you never, ever give up.”
However, the mother of Anthony’s four-year-old twins Max and Emme, said being a good mother remains a priority in her life.
“I feel the pressures of wanting to be a great parent and of wanting to do right by my children. I feel the pressure of knowing you can’t be perfect even though you want to be,” Lopez said. “One thing I’ve learned: Being a mom, or a dad, is the most important job there is. It doesn’t matter who you are. You have to embrace it for everything that it is.”
