Friends, family and fans rejoiced with Tina and Teddy Campbell when they introduced their 5th child—baby boy Santana Campbell—to the world in August. But Season 2 of Mary Mary’s WE tv reality show will reveal that the road to a successful delivery wasn’t so smooth.
“I think I’m exhausting my body more than I should and I’m dealing with excess pain,” confessed a then very pregnant and clearly worried Tina Campbell.
Her daughter Meela was born prematurely at just 33 weeks and weighed a meager 3 lbs. at birth. “I could hold her in one hand!” Tina recalled in an interview with Essence.com. “I went home and she stayed in the hospital –and let me tell you, that was one crazy situation.”
Understandably, Tina didn’t want to go through that again. Yet, the busy mom kept pushing, though her family was a bit on edge about her health—particularly her sister Erica who expressed concern in the preview clip.
“She really should sit in a wheelchair as soon as she comes off stage but her ego’s too big,” remarked Erica, who knows a thing or two about having to take a load off during pregnancy.
While carrying her daughter Zaya Monique, born in January, Erica was forced to obey doctor’s orders and pull out of the “Have A Mary Mary Christmas” Tour in December 2011, leading to its complete cancellation.
