Don Cheadle and crew return tonight at 10 p.m. ET in the second-season premiere of House of Lies on Showtime.

The show, which features Cheadle’s slick-talking character Marty Kaan as the head of a management-consultant firm, also stars Glynn Turman as his dad, Donis Leonard Jr. as his son and Josh Lawson and Ben Schwartz as his associates. During its first season, the comedy-drama turned out to be a compelling series with its humorous bits rooted in ever-evolving deeper plotlines about sleazeball corporate culture and the characters’ families’ lives.

Cheadle, the series’ star and executive producer, told The Root that season two will continue to reveal more of the characters’ layers. But he was coy when asked how his relationship with co-worker Jeannie (Kristen Bell) will unfold.

When last we saw them in the first season’s finale, the pair looked like they might be getting into a little sumthin’ sumthin’ sexual after celebrating their role in killing a merger. “We just don’t [expletive] know,” Cheadle said. “We’ll just have to see what happens.”

However, Cheadle gave us a little scoop on what else we can expect this season, including how Nia Long and Larenz Tate have joined the cast in what Cheadle called some Love Jones 2 action. Plus, he gives his views on awards season, what he’d like to see President Obama do in term two and his thoughts on the controversial Django Unchained action figures.
