February is all about hearts, and with Valentine’s Day fast approaching, it is appropriate to remind all women that February is also the month chosen by the American Heart Association to make women aware of the ongoing fight against heart disease by designating February 1 as National Wear Red Day.

On February 2, 2013 there will be heart disease screenings at all Macy’s store locations in the greater Richmond Area, including Short Pump Mall, Chesterfield Town Center, Regency Square Mall, Virginia Center Commons and Southpark Mall. This event will be from 3p.m. to 7p.m. at all store locations.

Besides the free screenings, representatives of the AHA local chapters will be available to answer questions, as well as hand out information on the ongoing efforts to stopheart disease in women in it’s tracks. Women can get the Red Dress lapel pin, showing your support of this fine organization and it’s fight to end heart disease.

This year, Go Red For Women is celebrating 10 years of being at the forefront of the battle against heart disease in women. Heart disease is the number 1 killer of women in this country today, affecting more women than men. It is also more deadly than all forms of cancer combined.
