Bishop T. D. Jakes, senior pastor of The Potter’s House was recognized with an Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Lone Star Chapter for a segment that featured the Texas Offenders Re-entry Initiative (T.O.R.I.).   The annual awards gala was held last fall at Cowboys Stadium, where Jakes along with a team of producers and writers, won big in the category of Public/Current/Community Affairs – Feature/Segment.

Since its inception, T.O.R.I. has served more than 7,000 formerly incarcerated individuals returning to Texas. The 2013 graduation ceremonies will be held on Sunday, March 17 at The Potter’s House.
