Tyler Perry will be debuting two distinctly different TV series on OWN in May.
Though he’s known more for his comedy, with characters like Madea Simmons and the Browns, Tyler’s“The Have and the Have Nots,” gets serious. The one-hour drama centers around the “rich and powerful”Cryer family of Savannah, GA.
“From the outside, the Cryers are the enviable face of success and wealth but behind the veil, the family’s dysfunction threatens to destroy their world of privilege,” reads the OWN site.
The show features an ensemble cast, including Tika Sumpter as the sultry Candance, “a manipulative opportunist who will stop at nothing to get what she wants.”
John Schneider, Renee Lawless, Aaron O’Connell, Crystal Fox, Jaclyn Betham and Tyler Lepleyalso star.
