The city of Cleveland is testing two new parking meter systems on a few downtown streets.

The Cleveland Division of Parking Facilities said the city will evaluate the two pilot programs over 90 days, and there is not cost for the tests.

The first program, which launched on Wednesday, involves 49 credit card meters. The division of parking facilities said 25 meters are on Erieside Avenue across from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the other 24 are on Chester Avenue between East 18th and East 22nd streets.

These meters can report revenue to the Cleveland Division of Parking Facilities, and even notify staff about full boxes and coin jams through text or email.
