The Cleveland Kids in Need Resource Center is offering $2 million in free school supplies.

Teachers serving low-income students in Cuyahoga County are able to stock up on books, copy paper, art supplies and much more.

Most of it was donated by corporations with surplus that otherwise would have ended up in landfills. Tuesday was the first chance teachers had to shop at the free store.

“Sometimes teachers have to pay out of their own pocket to get some of this stuff so to be able to find it now and be able to give it to our kids that just helps out a lot of teachers everywhere,” said Sister Mary Nuckles from St. Rocco School.

The center hopes to help children in more than 230 schools with these much needed supplies.
