Former NBA player and coach Winston Bennett was once addicted to sex. He slept with three women a day, 90 a month and a thousand a year for many years. Through this process, his wife Peggy stayed and stuck it out. But why?
“I knew I had biblical grounds to divorce my husband, but what I wanted [to know] is what is it that God wants me to do?” she says.
In an interview with CBN’s 700 Club, Mrs. Bennett opened up about her husband’s once private struggle. “In this process, Winston would tell me ‘I don’t want to do this to you. I don’t want to hurt you. I don’t know how to stop. I wish I could die,’” she remembers.
“I would see him crying out to God, asking God to help him. So I knew there was a person—the real Winston Bennett—on the inside locked up.”
