With Thanksgiving only a few days away there is an air of anticipation to be felt! Not just anticipating my last minute grocery shopping headache or trying to tackle a dessert I have never made but more of embracing what the holidays are about.  For department stores and general culture, Thanksgiving seems to be some sort of a middle child to the holiday season–it’s a holiday that is often rushed overshadowed by his older brother Halloween and outshined by his little brother Christmas, Thanksgiving shrinks into the shadows and is very much forgotten about.

As saints of God, I believe it’s important to implement “Thanksgiving Traditions.” In my home, we have adapted a “Roundtable Thanking” 5 years ago. Roundtable thanking happens after we have all eaten and we each take turns going around the table to say what we are thankful for.

For many like me 2013 has proved to be a hectic year combined with a few beautiful surprises.  Restraint was held when a few choice words wanted to slip out to a boss and somehow rent was made, bills paid, and children kept healthy and happy.

Last year, for the first time in my life—I felt that I was truly on the path that God has called of me and this year, I’m excited to have walked confidently in my purpose!
