Mayor Frank Jackson was sworn in Monday morning in the city hall rotunda for this third term in office.

Jackson pledged to concentrate on several key issues facing the city: education, economic growth and prosperity, a balanced budget, delivering quality services and improving the quality of life in neighborhoods.

Jackson admitted it takes time to make progress on his agenda.

“I don’t do flash in the pan kind of stuff…The race is won by those who endure to the end. I intend to accomplish the things I mentioned and do it in a way that Cleveland is better off.”

As for Jackson’s future, he said he really did not intend to run for a third term but he did. When asked if he would run for a fourth term, Jackson said he’d “play it by ear.”
