Nashville was full of the sounds of gospel music last night, Saturday Jan 18. The 29th Annual Stellar Awards took place at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium. The star-studded awards show was broadcast live by the UP television network.

Tamela Mann took home seven awards, including Artist of the Year. “Take Me to the King” written by Kirk Franklin was named Song of the Year. Tasha Cobbsgarnered three wins including Contemporary Female Vocalist of the Year.

DMV (DC/Maryland/Virginia) artist Anthony Brown & group TherAPy had much success with their debut project winning Group/Duo of the Year, a Contemporary Male win for Anthony Brown and Music Video of the Year, “Testimony.”

Tye Tribbett, who had a great year with his popular CD, “Greater Than” was named Male Vocalist of the Year.
