A new Boys and Girls Club is opening up in East Cleveland which is terrific but 19 Action News wants to show you the side of Cuyahoga County a lot of people never see.

You won’t see it in any big TV marketing promotion from city or county officials.

It’s the neighborhoods — that need big  time help.

There are more than 15,000 blighted properties across Cuyahoga County. Some of them are empty houses, vacant properties and you won’t find many of them in downtown Cleveland.   That is where the jobs are and the construction and the money but in neighborhoods outside of downtown Cleveland there is a problem.

The line for food starts early over at the Garden Valley Neighborhood House. It’s a spot where you can get lunch, a GED Or job training.

Ruthetta  Patton who was at Garden Valley told 19Action News, “I think neighborhoods could have more funds here. We live in the neighborhoods. We make up Cleveland.”
