Yet, in America’s increasingly liberal society, the deviant lifestyle is being normalized. This often creates friction between those who accept and those who reject the lifestyle—even when the two are related.
Lesbian R&B Divas star, Monifah Carter, 43, is living this reality, as her daughter, Akemi, is a Christian and does not endorse her mother’s same sex relationship.
“My daughter is in her religion—her Christianity—and she’s a 22-year-old who has not experienced life yet, fully,” Carter said in a recent sit-down on The Wendy Williams Show.
