The Bible says the woman’s hair is her glory and covering. So why doesn’t BET’s Sunday Best alum and RCA Inspiration recording artist Latice Crawford have any? It may not be the reason you’re thinking.

The “There” singer, who first riffed her way onto the gospel scene during her stint on the popular singing competition’s second season, sat down with EEW Magazine’s award-winning CEO, Dianna Hobbs, for a candid chat.

“I’ve had short hair for a while, but the recent bald look was because of an encounter I had with someone while I was in the airport,” Crawford explained during a Meet & Greet at WUFO 1080, Western NY’s #1 Stellar-nominated inspiration station, following a Mother’s Day performance in Buffalo, NY.

Crawford continued, “I was coming back from a gig and she was telling me how she had a double mastectomy and she just kind of walked up to me and said, ‘Oh, you’re so brave to wear your hair low.’ She said, ‘When I was suffering with cancer and going through chemo,’ she said ‘I was so ashamed and I would wear wigs and cover my hair.’”
