*With the Angela Bassett-directed Lifetime biopic about Whitney Houston coming up, we are getting daily updates on casting, etc.

Now in the latest news about the project we learn that we will hear the music of Whitney Houston, but neither her nor the star of the movie, former America’s Next Top Model hopeful, Yaya DaCosta, will be singing it.

This opens the door for a lot of speculation, yes? With a talent as vast as Houston’s- its nearly impossible to imagine who would be chosen to sing the songs that we expect the same chills from, when Houston herself sang them.

But you won’t have to wait any longer to learn who the job went to.

According to E Online News, that someone is none other than R&B singer Deborah Cox!

According to one Lifetime rep, “music rights and clearances are still being worked out,” but Cox will be providing the “vocal tracks.”

The film, which focuses on Houston’s relationship with Bobby Brown, will be the directing debut for actress Angela Bassett – who worked with Houston on the film,  “Waiting to Exhale.”

Lifetime recently cast Arlen Escarpeta as the former New Edition singer, and released the first photo of “the couple” together.

Houston’s family is not involved with the production.
