Mo’ne Davis throws like…a pitcher! The 13-year-old is dominating the game of baseball and social media for leading her all male Philadelphia little league team, the Taney Dragons, to the 2014 Little League World Series (LLWS) and shutting out the competition – literally.

On only the second day of the LLWS, Davis made history as the first girl to pitch a shutout in the 67 years the games have been around.

“It’s very unreal,” Davis told the New York Times. “I never thought that at the age of 13 I would be a role model, but now it’s real. I always wanted to be a basketball role model; being a baseball role model is really cool.”

Davis understands how groundbreaking her performance is and now that she is in spotlight she hopes other girls will consider sports.

“More girls should join boys’ teams so it could be a tradition and it wouldn’t be so special,” she said in a post-game interview.
