Officials in Medina say emergency repairs for damaged water and sewer lines in the Public Square area could take up to three weeks. Officials urge drivers and residents to use alternate routes when traveling in the city.

Crews responded to a broken water main on Sept. 10 and then discovered additional damage to old sewer lines.

“As a business owner—this is what both me and my husband do—so that’s terrifying,” said Ameena Hoshaw, who owns Sportsworld located on some of the affected roadway on Court Street.

Hoshaw says she was concerned the construction to repair the lines would negatively affect business for her shop and surrounding stores.

“It’s hard for people to get up here and get a spot anyway so that just threw a huge wrench in it we thought,” said Hoshaw.

Hoshaw added she has been pleasantly surprised to learn she and her employees are receiving just as many orders as before.
