A lot of kids like to play football, the practice though very often the necessary evil to get to the game.

But, on Tuesday night in Cleveland’s Collinwood neighborhood that changed for a group of around 150 youth football players from the city’s Police Athletic League and Greater Cleveland Muny Football League.

As the kids all gathered on one field and were running through their drills at Humphrey Park, a bus pulled up, not just any, but one clearly marked as coming from the Cleveland Browns.

Off walked quarterback Johnny Manziel, linebacker Chris Kirksey, defensive lineman Billy Winn and defensive back Johnson Bademosi.

“I was about to pass out,” said one youngster recalling his reaction to seeing the players not only walk onto the field but then join in their practice.

The surprise visit was part of the Cleveland Browns’ “1st & 10 #Give10” effort, encouraging people in the community to find time to volunteer at least 10 hours a year in their own community.
