The Cleveland School of Science and Medicine was recently recognized by U.S. News and World Report as one of America’s best high schools. The school is also home to one of the best teachers.
Mary Simpson was shocked as she was called onto stage during the school’s outdoor celebration to recognize the school’s Straight A Report Card by the Ohio Board of Education.
Mrs. Simpson was awarded the NewsChannel5 Ohio Savings Bank “Teacher of the Week Award.”
“It’s not me. It’s everyone of my colleagues. I can’t do it without them. It’s the kids, thank you,” Simpson said.
Mrs. Simpson has been teaching mathematics for 15 years, the past 8 at the School of Science and Medicine.
