Florida State University warned of a “dangerous situation on campus” early Thursday morning and asked students to stay away from windows after a gunman reportedly opened fire inside a library.

Two people were hospitalized with gunshot wounds, the nursing supervisor at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare told the campus newspaper. But she would not elaborate on their condition.

Mary Coburn, the vice president of student affairs, told the paper the gunman was later shot and killed by campus police.

Campus police would not comment on the incident to CNN, and the school’s public relations department said it would release a statement shortly.

According to multiple tweets, the shooting took place inside Strozier library at the school in Tallahassee, Florida.

“FSU Alert Dangerous situation main campus-Tallahassee,” a text sent to students read. “Seek shelter immediately, away from doors and windows.”
