A homeless man in Virginia has asked for a family to let him into their home for Thanksgiving.

Neal Shytles lost his job as a taxi driver and has lived in a shelter for a year and a half; Shytles has no family in the Norfolk area and says holidays are a very lonely time for him.

“I am lonely like 365 days a year but Christmas and Thanksgiving are two of the worst days, and I really miss having some kind of family atmosphere around me,” Shytles said.

The Christian man shared his story on the local TV station and posted an ad on the station’s Facebook page.

“It would mean the world to me if somebody took me in. Just for that one day, for a couple hours,” he said.

“It would mean so much, because you know like I said, I’m lonely and it`s just forming that relationship with somebody would be so important to me,” he said. “It would mean so much and I would really cherish it.”
