Marvin Sapp won his first ever solo artist Dove Award for [Contemporary Gospel Recorded Song of the Year] for his hit “The Best In Me.” “I dedicated it to my wife, MaLinda,” said Marvin Sapp. MaLinda Sapp died of colon cancer last September.

It was also a first time win for singer/actress, Tamela Mann, who is known for her role as Cora in Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns.” She won in the [Traditional Gospel Album of the Year] category over Shirley Caesar.

Israel Houghton won for the [Contemporary Gospel Album of the Year

Album]. The show will be televised at 7 p.m. Easter Sunday on the Gospel Music Channel, and repeated at 9 p.m..
