GEORGIA — Raquel Nelson, the Georgia mother who was convicted with a misdemeanor after her son was struck and killed by a truck, will not serve jail time, according to CNN.
Nelson, 30, pleaded for sympathy after she broke a state law when jaywalking with her three children. Her story attracted national attention from media agencies, the NAACP and transportation advocates, who all said the charges were unfairly pursued.
