We all know that losing weight is NOT being in total health. I know we all want to look and feel good, BUT we have to take our health into our own hands and realize that there is more to looking great. There are four key areas of wellness and what I call TOTAL HEALTH.

Does The Scale Tell The Truth

Let’s take a quick look and break them down.

This is where alot of people fall short, some even fall totally off the wagon and some people never hop on. I know working out is tough. It is mind over matter and it is a ends to a means. To workout faithfully takes discipline and determination. I have to trick myself everyday into doing it. Once I do it, I FEEL GREAT! I work out 5 times a day and it was not always like that. I made the commitment to myself to get started and once I did, it paid off. I lost 28 pounds in 8 weeks.

When you can begin to fit into old clothes and current clothes are falling off, it is a great feeling. Exercising is great for your heart and your total health. Even if it is only 20 minutes a day, it is a good way to get your blood pumping and eventually you will want to do more. Buddy up, find someone who has the same goals and do it together. Once you start, stay on the path. It is so hard to start the process, but once you fall off, it is easy to go back to the old ways. Stay consistent and determined.

What we put into our bodies is so important. Cancer is such a common word today. When I was growing up, it was few far and in between of people I knew who had it. Our foods has so much to do with our health and the inside of our bodies. Pay attention to what you feed your body. We need proper nutrition to fuel our bodies. Obesity is high in teens. I blame the fast food industry for alot of what’s going on. Everything today is “super size”. We should get back to home cooking because you control your ingredients. When you eat out, more calories are in your meals and more of the bad stuff. A slice of pizza can be over 600 calories, you just blew your workout for the day.
