The story is told of a baby elephant taken into captivity. He was firmly tied to a rope on an iron stake driven in the ground. Every day the elephant fought to free himself. But his vicious jerks only caused the rope to blister and tear into his ankle. The pain was too great, so finally he gave up. But he kept growing. One day, the baby elephant became a 10-ton creature.

But despite his enormity, he was still enslaved by the same rope that was now well frayed and flimsy. The elephant could have easily snapped it and run free. But his spirit had been broken. And in his mind he still saw the tiny rope as a massive obstacle too difficult to conquer.

Many people are just like this elephant. We have greatness and power. Yet we live small, defeated lives. Past experiences enslave us. Often we don’t know our worth or how to value it.

So, what has you trapped? It’s not that you don’t have the power or ability to set yourself free. You must first free your mind. Mental slavery is what keeps you tied to life’s rope of lack and limitation
