The son of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi recently told El Khabar, an Algerian newspaper, that his father’s administration is in negotiations with the French government about support of rebels who have worked to oust Gaddafi’s government since February.

“Our envoy to (Nicolas) Sarkozy said that the French president was very clear and told him ‘We created the (rebel) council, and without our support, and money, and our weapons, the council would have never existed’,” it quoted Saif al-Islam as saying.
