A few years ago, Michael Vick was one of the most hated athletes in the world after losing a potential laden football career after being charged with running a dogfighting ring. He lost his position as the franchise quarterback of the Atlanta Falcons, his $100 million plus contract, and many of his fans.

Two years later, Michael Vick has gone from a backup on the Philadelphia Eagles to the starting quarterback of a Super Bowl favorite team. Oh, and don’t forget that he just signed a contract for six years and $100 million, with $40 million of it guaranteed.

Can you say redemption?

VIck’s lucrative new pact comes on the heels of a stellar 2010 season that earned him Comeback Player of the Year honors. That resurgent ’10 season began just over a year after Vick was released from prison after 19 months spent behind bars for his dogfighting conviction. Before his role in a dogfighting ring was exposed, Vick had been one of the most electric players in the NFL during his six seasons with the Atlanta Falcons.
