Browns’ defensive back Gerard Lawson has decided he wants a jury to hear his case after he was arrested and charged with DUI and hit-skip.

Lawson, 25, pleaded not guilty Monday and asked for a jury trial.

According to Cleveland police, around 11:00 p.m. Saturday, Lawson struck a parked car on West 6th Street and didn’t stop. Cuyahoga County sheriff’s deputies were in the area transporting a prisoner and witnessed the incident.

They then followed him and made the arrest.

He has been charged with driving under the influence and hit-skip.

Additional details were not immediately released.

No one was injured.

The Browns General Manager Tom Heckert released the following statement:

“We are aware of the situation with Gerard and are continuing to gather all the information. Until we have done that we will not make any further comment.”
