Timeout for Browns fans! Starting this weekend, the NFL is flagging security inside the stadium in an effort to maintain a family-friendly atmosphere.

Under the enhanced security procedures, fans at all 32 clubs nationwide will be searched from the ankles to the knees. It’s intrusive. There’s no need to go that far, people should know better than to bring that kind of stuff,” said Emma Butcher.

“I think they need to make the security better and the people they hire should be taught how to search people,” said Browns fan Sam Sorata.

Browns fans are already used to bag inspections and pat-downs from the waist up.

The additional security changes come just a few days after a South Carolina man was arrested for using an illegal taser at the New York JetsDallas Cowboys game.

“I don’t think it’s in response to one single incident,” said Browns Media Relations Vice President Neal Gulkis. “It’s a wanding procedure, so no one is going to have to lift up clothing or anything like that.”

“I just think that a little bit of extra safety is very important,” said David Hoffman.

This Sunday, the Browns are in Indianapolis. The following week, the Browns are back at home to take on Miami.

If you’re headed to the game, you may want to leave a few minutes early.
