According to Mashable two sources close to Facebook called the profile redesign “major” and said it will “make Facebook profiles nexuses for consuming content.” In English this means they will encourage spending more time on a user’s profile. This may mean that more information will be shared there, i.e. what song you’re listening, what show you’re watching, what news you’re reading. All of this may soon be automatically uploaded to your page. According to Mashable’s sources the redesign will be a push towards ecommerce, which could have us seeing more buying and selling between friends using Facebook Credits.
