Crews will shut down the East Ninth Street eastbound exit ramp on I-90 at 4 a.m. Saturday for two months.
Downtown workers who drive in from the west side should face the closure for the first real rush hour on Monday morning.
Westside commuters will have to find alternate routes.
ODOT suggests drivers take I-490 to I-77. Map
They need the closure to continue work on the new Innerbelt bridge.
ODOT says alternate routes off I-90 east include:
- using the Broadway exit and turning at East 14th Street into downtown
- taking the Ontario Street ramp
continuing on to the Chester Avenue exit
ODOT reminds drivers that two other eastbound off-ramps already have been closed, at East 22nd Street and also at Carnegie Avenue.
ODOT says all three ramps will reopen about Dec. 1.
