Over the weekend, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital rolled out the red carpet for radio announcers across the country.  The goal was to talk about the many goals of the research hospital and the important roll the radio announcer’s play in helping to raise money during their yearly nationwide radio-thon.

Held at the Four Star Peabody Hotel in downtown Memphis, the closing dinner was hosted by radio announcer Michael Davis.  A special guest performance was given by James Fortune, who is also on St. Jude’s Advisory Board.  Fortune along with his group FIYA, delivered an awesome performance. Singing many of his Billboard Hits from “Survive”, “I Believe” and “I Trust You,” Fortune was truly the highlight performance for the evening.

Also singing lead was Fortune’s wife, Cheryl who told us here at The Belle Report, she will be singing lead on one or two of the songs that will be coming out on their new CD “Identity, which will also be showcased on their new label, Fiya World Music, January 17, 2012.

The CD will deliver 15 songs and be distributed by E1 Distribution.
