-United Television, the producers of the Allstate Gospel Superfest announce the winners of the third annual installment of the AGSF Battle of The Bands (for gospel acts) competition.

Men of God’s Heart from Columbus, OH won the Philly regional and the overall competition with a show-stopping performance that held the entire (Philly) audience captive and on their feet.   The group is now poised to open the next Gospel Superfest TV taping which will be scheduled in mid to late 2011.

The Allstate Gospel Superfest production team travels to multiple cities each year in efforts to give opportunity to aspiring gospel artists at a grassroots level… This year, the show traveled to Indianapolis, Philadelphia and Jackson MS.

This year’s winners, Men of God’s heart are from Columbus, OH.   The group auditioned in Philadelphia in front of hundreds of fans at the Holy Ghost Headquarters at the Met.  As grand prizewinners, the group will receive a cash prize of $2,500.00 and a national TV appearance.

Competition Recap:

With close to five hundred (500) applicants, the field was narrowed down to sixty. The competition was tuff and many of the acts traveled hundreds of miles to audition for celebrity and industry executives. Some of the Judges included executives from all facets of the gospel music and entertainment industries including, Mississippi Mass Choir great, Momma Burkes, Grammy Award winning producer Stan Jones, management and music mogul, Neicy Tribbett (mother of Tye Tribbett), Dr. Leonard Scott (founder of Tyscot Records), LaShell Griffin (Oprah Winfrey Pop Star Challenge Winner), Adriane Warren (national promotions executive) Chandra Wise (minister of music /New Jerusalem Church, Jackson, MS) Donnie Barrow (record label executive) Lamar Campbell (national recording artist) and others…  Nationally syndicated radio host and recording artist, Lonnie Hunter hosted the Philly auditions for the second consecutive year.

The national second place winner was Gloryland Pastor’s Choir of North Little Rock Arkansas.  Third place went to G-5 and the Gospel Boyz of Pulaski, TN.  An official check presentation will be scheduled in the coming weeks for the Grand Prizewinner in a city yet to be announced.
