Half a dozen Canton fire crews battled an industrial fire at the historic Weber Dental Manufacturing Company in Canton late Thursday night and into early Friday morning.
With flames shooting through the structure’s roof, crews fought the fire from the inside by tearing down one of the building’s walls with an excavator.
The fire started just after 10 p.m.
According to fire officials, various tooling and industrial supply companies have occupied the building throughout the years.
The vacant factory is located at 2206 13th St. NE, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places for Stark County.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
