Authorities in Cleveland are investigating an alleged sexual assault of a female student on the city’s east side, Fox 8 News reports.
According to the Cleveland Police Department offense/incident report, the teenager stated that she was walking Thursday in the area of East 82nd Street when a man came up to her and asked for money. After telling the man that she did not have any money, she claims he grabbed her jacket and put a handgun to her head before dragging her into the backyard of a vacant house. That’s where the assault allegedly occurred.
The young victim — who is either 13 or 14 years of age — said that the suspect stole $30 from her, as well as an iPod.
Emergency crews transported her to University Hospitals for treatment.
When checking the backyard in question, detectives discovered the girl’s glasses on the ground.
Authorities continue to look for the unknown suspect, who is described as a young black man standing approximately 5 feet, 7 inches tall.
