November is American Diabetes Month®, and as part of this year’s programming, the American Diabetes Association (ADA) will spotlight the advocates, community leaders, medical professionals, and celebrities who in some way have helped further the mission to stop diabetes. As an American Diabetes Association Spokesperson, David Mann lends his support in the nationwide effort to raise awareness about diabetes during the ADA I.D. Day on Sunday, November 13, 2011 when he will represent the ADA at a church-wide event in Dallas, Texas.

“I’m honored to be a part of this important day to help get the word out about diabetes testing,” said Mann. “This is a day for people to come together across the country to raise awareness about diabetes and its deadly consequences in the African-American community.”

On ADA I.D. Day, churches with congregations of all sizes are invited to work with the ADA to host diabetes education programs across the nation in an effort to promote diabetes testing.

David Mann is a multifaceted actor and 2011 NAACP Image Award winner for Outstanding Actor In A Comedy Series (Meet The Browns, “Mr. Brown”). When David is not shooting Tyler Perry’s Meet The Browns, he brings his live comedy show to venues around the country playing to sold-out crowds and is a spokesperson for the American Diabetes Association. Along with his wife, Tamela, David is the co-host of the exciting new cooking and lifestyle TV show, Hanging With The Manns, which follows the dynamic couple as they cook-up delicious recipes in the kitchen and go on hilariously funny and wild adventures together.
