It took massive collaborative campaigns to capture the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and bring the new version of the Browns back to Cleveland.

Two Cleveland City Council members, Jeff Johnson and Zachary Reed, and several colleagues are leading an effort to rally all the community  forces, city and suburban,  they can muster to tackle the problem of youth gun violence.

A day-long gathering at the Broadway Boys and Girls Club headquarters drew a huge crowd of social service, law enforcement, health care and other agency staffers to explore new ways to connect and form an overall strategy to tackle the issue.Part of the new strategy is to raise awareness of youth violence as a social, economic and health care expense and try to persuade the business community to be more engaged to save money.

“There’s a published report that a gun shot wound in an urban community costs $1 million for health care, investigation, arrest , prosecution and rehabilitation..We the taxpayers all pay for it,” said Ron Soeder, President of the Boys and Girls Clubs in Cleveland.
