Kenny Lofton, perhaps the best leadoff hitter in franchise history, has been named to the Indians Hall of Fame. He will be inducted Aug. 7 before the Indians play the Twins at Progressive Field.

Cy Slapnicka, the scout who signed Bob Feller and Bob Lemon, will also be inducted. Slapnicka was the Indians general manager from 1935 through 1940.

Lofton made three different tours with the Tribe. He played from 1992 through 1996 after being acquired  from Houston. His second tour was from 1998 through 2001. He was a midseason pickup in 2007 and helped the Indians make their last postseason appearance.
