Sheriff’s deputies showed up at the newspaper’s Cleveland office to arrest Baird, but he was out on assignment. Deputies then realized they could not serve the warrant because it did not contain Baird’s legal name. Later, Saffold signed an order for The Plain Dealer to release the name of the person who leaked the documents.
