In addition, the original battle flags of the 7th and 8th Ohio Volunteer Infantry and 10th Ohio Cavalry will be displayed at the monument, which honors this state’s role in the Civil War. That participation is illustrated in both statuary and interior panels bearing the names of 9,000 Cuyahoga County residents who served with the Union during that conflict.
