At 3 p.m., team owner Dan Gilbert will announce that Chris Grant is replacing Danny Ferry as the new general manager of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Ferry turned in his resignation last week.

Grant joined the Cavs as assistant general manager in July 2005. He worked closely with Ferry on all basketball operations, from trades and drafts to domestic and international scouting programs.

Prior to joining the Cavaliers, Grant spent the previous nine seasons with the Atlanta Hawks, where he was promoted in 2004 to the position of vice president of basketball operations and assistant general manager.
