The Cleveland School Board voted Tuesday night to layoff another 105 employees, including 61 in the district’s central office.

On April 5, the board laid off 702 members of the teachers union, including nurses, social workers, and more than 600 teachers. The Cleveland Metropolitan School District is trying to erase a projected $74 million deficit over the next two school years.

The central office cuts are expected to save $3.68 million a year. Of those positions, 22 are already vacant, meaning 39 people would lose their jobs includng secretaries and security personnel. The remainder of the 105 layoffs announced Tuesday are other union employees who weren’t laid off with members of the teacher’s union.
