On page 21 there is a great story on gospel’s Kierra Sheard and her recent graduation from Detroit’s Wayne State University with a degree in English Literature.
In the article she states that it took her six years to get her degree because she was performing on the weekends, but that it was worth it.
Kierra is engaged to Dr. Welton Smith and is anticipating her new CD, Free, on July 12th.

Also, in this issue is an article on Vickie Winans nephew, Tim Bowman Jr. The segment states that “Tim is a singer’s singer, one that can transition through varying notes with striking ease”.
Be sure to check out the article on page 41 on Kim Burrell titled ‘From The Stage To The Pulpit’. In the article Kim relates how God impressed upon her that she should pastor during a spiritual fast. The article also mentions other singers who pastor such as Hezekiah Walker, Marvin Sapp, Shirley Caesar, Deitrick Haddon and Donnie McClurkin.
