Man Shot At Cleveland Gas Station After Running Into Officer With Gun Drawn
A man Cleveland police were trying to question at an east side gas station was shot after he ran into one of the officers, causing the officer’s gun to discharge.
The incident happened at the Shell gas station at East 93rd and Kinsman at about 3:51 p.m. Monday.
Cleveland police Sgt. Sammy Morris said officers at the district headquarters across the street from the gas station spotted a motorcycle on the back of a flatbed truck that they believed was involved in a hit-skip crash on Sunday.
The officers then radioed for backup as they approached the vehicle with guns drawn, yelling for the man in the cab to get out of the truck. According to Morris, the man got out on the passenger’s side and took off running, directly into one of the officers, causing the officer’s gun to fire a shot into the man’s neck.
