United Television, the production company behind the Allstate Gospel Superfest TV series announces today that it will tour three US (cities in August in search for its 2012 opening act. The contest, The Allstate Gospel Superfest Battle of the Bands-2011 will audition gospel groups, soloists, quartets and ensembles of (20 members or less), in search of the next opening act for the Gospel Superfest TV taping slated for 2012.

Dr. Bobby Cartwright, The show’s executive producer and show’s production staff will travel to Indianapolis, IN (Sunday August 7, 2011), Jackson, MS, (Saturday, August 12, 2011) and Philadelphia, PA (Saturday, August 27, 2011).

“We are always looking to see who the next rising star might be in gospel music and we hope to do our small part in helping to spring board a few ministries and have some fun on the road this summer,” states Cartwright. “The Allstate Gospel Superfest is a major opportunity for up and coming artists. Just think, in one stop, you can appear in front of hundreds of millions of TV households, launch a career via international television, and begin a career that we hope will be fruitful and beneficial to faith-based audiences around the world. “

Last year’s competition yielded some very noteworthy artists including, Kevin Jarido and Nu Virtu, Donte Everhart & The End Time Movement, both producer’s wild card selections and the 2010 grand prizewinners, The Soul Messengerz of the Washington, DC area. Regional standouts last year also include Nikki D. and The Browns (a sibling group from Toledo, OH, Little Sammy & the Flying Clouds of New York City and The Kaiser Singers of Jackson, MS.

The contest will offer a grand prize of $2,500.00, a national TV appearance, and trip to the international TV taping which is scheduled for January, 2012. Admission to the competitions is free to the public. The shows will include celebrity judges and performers with several surprise guests in each city.
