Sowell, 51, pleaded not guilty in the deaths of the 11 women who disappeared in his drug-ridden East Cleveland neighborhood starting in October 2007. Police say Sowell lured the women with alcohol and drugs, killed them, then left their remains in and around his home.

The defense rested Tuesday without calling a single witness.

The prosecution rested on Monday after showing the jury an eight-hour police interrogation of Sowell in which he said “I guess I did that” when asked about the bodies.

Sowell faces 83 counts in total, which include aggravated murder, offenses against a human corpse, tampering with evidence, kidnapping and felonious assault. If convicted, he could face the death penalty, reports WOIO.
